Jean-Christophe Vignes
Jean-Christophe Vignes started his career as Legal Counsel for the .FR Registry (AFNIC) and has since gathered 10+ years of experience in the Domain Name world.
Over the years, Jean-Christophe was heavily involved in various policy bodies and interest groups including among others the Council for European National Top Level Domain Registries (CENTR) and the French Chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC) of which he was an elected board member.
While at .TM Registry Limited he oversaw the complete re-launch of the extension, and was in charge of legal and policy issues as well as Industry Relations. He served in a similar capacity for the dot-ac, dot-sh and dot-io country code Top Level Domains.
Prior to joining OpenRegistry in December 2010, Jean-Christophe was Executive Vice-President & General Counsel of EuroDNS SA, a leading Global Domain Name Registrar. In five years there, he oversaw the launch of numerous new Top Level Domains and was instrumental in the formation of CoDNS, the subsidiary which runs the Co.nl, Co.no and asia.com extensions of which Mr Vignes established the registration policies and registrar accreditation process.
Jean-Christophe is proud to have been elected twice as Vice-Chair of ICANN’s Registrars Stakeholder Group as well as the .EU’s Registrar Advisory Group where he represents his peers within the ICANN community.
Mr Vignes also serves as a Special Advisor to the Czech Arbitration Court, the manager of the dot-eu ADR Process and UDRP Provider.
A Graduate of Paris Assas and McGill University, he is also a visiting teacher at Université Paris XIII where he lectures on Domain Names valuation and protection.
